Macbook and USB2/Firewire Hub

My wife has a MBP (the gen before multitouch). I am looking at a refurb 2.0 Glassbook for myself, but have the same concerns with the absence of FW that most people do.

Will something like this

allow me to capture use a FW product for capturing video on the MB?

I plan on upgrading to a HDD video camera in the next year, but I am looking at the MB because I am doing some web design and will be on the road for work unable to use the MBP at the house.

From the looks of it, that hub still requires a one FW port to begin with. It's not creating the additional firewire ports out of thin air.

If you need Firewire, just purchase the older gen MBs or a MBP.

I don't need it as I can use my wife's MBP to capture data on an external HD, but it would just make it nicer.
