Last week I bought a 2.2GHz White MacBook and AppleCare for the laptop. I have since received the laptop and registered with AppleCare. Today Apple releases the new MacBooks and I would like very much to send my MacBook back to Amazon and buy one. The problem is, I don't know what to do with the AppleCare. Is it transferable to a new unit? Is there any way to get my money back from it?

I would appreciate any help!

Most likely NOT transferable to a new MacBook (you've already read the AppleCare fine print?), but it's always worth a shot calling Apple Support to ask!

applecare is a waste of money IMHO. pushed at the retail level due to very high markups. i worked retail. comissioned. i know.

Awesome post, really, extremely helpful to my situation. Without you I may have never figured out the answer to my question....;)
