macbook audio and display problem

I have a macbook and i want to connect it to my tv. i use a minidvi-dvi adapter and then i connect to the tv using a dvi-hdmi cable. can i also send the sound to the tv or do i need another cable for audio?

You need another cable. Either an analog mini-stereo to mini-stereo, mini-stereo to RCA R&L, or digital optical mini-Toslink to Toslink.
