Hey everyone, recently whenever I listen to music using headphones on my macbook, the vocals are greatly dimmed. I can fix it quite well with the equalizer but it's inconvenient for watching say, youtube videos. Is this a common problem with an easy fix? I really don't have the time to drive 3 hours to an Apple store...

Turn the volume up? Try a PRAM reset?

Do basic troubleshooting: Does it do it under a different user? Does it do it when booted from a known-good OS? If it does, then it's most likely going to be hardware, and you won't be able to avoid taking the machine to Apple.
