It worked once on my girlfriend's mac to import into her iTunes but when I try to put it in my macbook it automatically ejects whether I'm in OSX or XP.

I thought it might be the CD... but it works on my XP-only desktop... then I thought it might be my mac, but it plays other CDs (both music and data).

What's wrong!?

(It's the OSX in-built quality control doing it's job! :p )

Have you tried cleaning the disc?

Could it be you have your 'Good Taste' filter enabled? ;)

Does the disc need cleaning?

Edit - too slow!

i sure your not dissing coldplay... if you are i might hurt you. lol well obviously you have never heard viva la vida

I'm really not crazy about the Macbook optical drive. I much prefer a tray that pops out over a mechanism which "sucks" the CD/DVD into the machine.

I have had issues where a CD or DVD was not playable and the Macbook would not release it, even when the eject button was hit numerous times. The only thing that worked was shutting down, which begs the question if a CD/DVD gets stuck in there, it looks like it could be a major repair issue.

Also, if a CD or DVD has a homemade label on it, the Macbook optical drive can be very quirky, even when other "tray" drives don't have any problem playing it. The tolerances are just too close.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 2_0_1 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/525.18.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.1.1 Mobile/5B108 Safari/525.20)

I think the MacBook is doing you a favor.

Hahha, well... I'll try and clean the disc and try again.

And oh by the way, I can understand people not liking Coldplay - they're a band that you either love or hate. But making a judgement prior to Viva La Vida and after listening to it is not a synonymous thing.

The new album sounds like nothing they've made before and gives a lot of people a new perspective on a formerly thought of as "wussy" band.

Give it a try.
