A MacBook (white, non-unibody 2007) of mine's battery just died/"needs replacement" so I'm interested to know what are my options, besides Apple's $130 dollar one. I was scrolling through MacWorld and saw some 3rd party replacement batteries that hold more charge/last longer. Any suggestions as to what is the best (or if Apple's is just the best)

Based on my experience with Apple versus 3rd party, I would say go with the Apple ones. The third party battery I bought for my last machine died just after a year so I consider it poor value. Apple's batteries typically last about 3 years which is what I would expect from a daily use laptop.
