I was doing my semi-regular battery callibration last night, and ran the battery down until the computer went to sleep, and then left it like that until it turned off.

I then plugged it in to charge for 8 hours or so. I noticed immediately that the charge status light was green as soon as I plugged in the adaptor, but thought nothing of it.

8 hours later, I turned on the laptop (while plugged in). The battery status icon has an x through it, and when I click it, it says "No batteries available".

I have removed and re-inserted the battery. Also, when I press the button on the battery that tells you how charged it is, the first light flashes repeatedly.

This is a 2.0 GHz Core Duo (not C2D) MacBook.

Anyone have any ideas? Apple phone support is closed for new years.

Reset the PMU chip.

Shutdown the MacBook

Take out the battery and unplug it from the AC Adapter

Press and hold the power button for about 5 seconds and release it

Put the battery and AC Adapter back in and power it up
