Macbook Battery Hacked

I read that there's a way to hack into the battery(?) of macbooks and permanently disable it.. is that actually possible or is the post just a fake?

What is there that is hackable in a battery?I though it was just hardcoded hardware..

Everything which has a firmware and can be modded by Apple itself by providing updates has a chip which is password protected. But since Apple uses ONE password for every machines and for every hardware part it is hackable. You will have to wait until this guy will present it in August ^^
