Hi all,

I have a mid-2007 black Macbook that's experiencing some problems with the battery. For some unknown reason, my Macbook will automatically shut down when disconnected from the power source. Initially, my battery status said "Unable to charge," but after resetting the SMU and the PRAM, the battery seems to charge as normal. I'm fairly certain that the problem isn't the battery - my battery works fine on my friend's identical Macbook, yet my computer won't even recognize his. Is there anything I can do to solve this problem?

Thanks in advance!

Since you have already reset the PRAM and SMC, I don't think there is anything else you can do ... I'm assuming you have installed any updates that might have to do with the battery ... in which case, I think only Apple can fix it.

Black X Battery Logic Board Failure

Sounds like another faulty logic board. Apple needs to offer a Repair Extension Program for logic board failures like this.
