macbook calibration with i1display Lt

I am trying yo calibrate my macbook (it's about a year old now ) using the
i1Display LT but the results where horrible (washed out with reddish tint). I have done an eye calibration before using the built in calibration tool and it looked much better.

Have anyone used the i1Display LT successfully? do i have to upgrade to
i1Display 2 ?

I searched and i couldn't find someone using the i1display -LT on macbook. it did have good reviews but i didn't see anywhere that it won't work on a mac screen. Oh well i have to return it!
