Is there anyone else who dislike the current MacBook Air/Pro case design? Don't think Jony Ive whould have let it through. The current esthetics with round edges make them look 20 years old and fat. Ives beveled edge design of the pre 2020 MacBooks looked soo much nicer.

Already looking forward to Apples next design overhaul.

Don't hold your breath, it's very difficult (impossible?) to replace Jony Ive.
They are continuing to use old designs (MBA M1, MBP 13", MP, MM) and new stuff (AWP, MS, MBP "14 and "16) aren't exactly gorgeous.

I also feel that new MacBook Pro design is ugly and thick.

I have the 2019 16 inch MacBook Pro and I love its design until it comes to doing any heavy work on it, and it gets very warm and my study starts to sound more like an airport runway as the fans ramp up.

There was very much a case of aesthetics/design over function for a long time at Apple with regard to their notebook lineup, and I'm pleased they've moved away from that ethos.

I had both the 16 inch 2019 model and the 16 inch 2021 model. I agree the 16 inch 2019 was more sleek, thinner and perhaps more modern looking. But god dammit that thing got really hot really fast, and those fans whined and whined. I am glas that the new design also allows for a HDMI port and SD card slot. So I agree, but for years people where mocking apple that they chose design over function, and now people are complaining about them going the other way. You just cannot please all people. I am very happy with the practicality of the new design.

I agree, no one miss the hot, loud fan and inefficient intel processors. The MBA M1, not hot, fanless, efficient, has two usb-c ports and looks great. Compare beveled MBA M1 to fat MBA M2 in the picture.

I have the same notebook and I wish I delayed purchase to the 2021 Macbook Pro 16" M1 Pro 5nm for the better performance design.

I'd likely replace mine by 2027 Macbook Pro 17" with replaceable battery with a 1.4nm (A14) chip.

I do think the new MacBooks Airs are ugly. Again just my opinion and you may have yours. They should have kept the overall design and just reduced the bezel size.

I think the ports look off, somehow, on the new ones. Like they are too small compared to the case.

The best design was the 2012-2015 MBPs (externally). Dream machine would be a 14" in the general shape of the 2015 model, with backlit Apple logo, but otherwise the same LCD, keyboard and trackpad as the current 14". And the current types of ports of course.
