MacBook Connectivity Issue with Wi-Fi Router and Hotspot

MacBook unable to connect to Wi-Fi router, showing connected to wifi but "weak security" notification. Limited access to apps can only do messenger. I'm getting constant " You are not Connected to the Internet" messages on Safari even when the WiFi shows it's connected. Frustrating I encounter this too when I connect via personal hotspot.
 
Which MacBook Air? What OS Version? Which router? Connecting to combined SID (2.4, 5 and maybe 6 Ghz) or to a specific frequency? When connected what strength is shown?
