I just got a new macbook for christmas. When I connect to my wireless network, it accepts the password and the top right of the screen where it shows signal strength is full but it doesnt open any web pages.

Please help

Long shot here, but are you using the mini dvi - dvi adaptor with an external monitor?
Either that or your router doesn't like macs... try rebooting the router?
 
I had the same problem with my MBP and my belkin n router. Does any other machine have the same problem? Do you have any windows machines dropping as well? Does the computer that is hard wired into the network occasionally time out?

This happened to me (my internet dropped out, but I could still access the router wirelessly), and the culprit was my four or five year old cable modem. Replaced the modem, and hadn't had a problem since.
