Question for you all...my macbook (unibody 2 ghz) CPU runs nearly 100 percent constantly (according to i-stat) while playing the sims 3. the game runs fine, and i can hear the fans running at high speed to try and cool it down.

will it hurt the cpu or computer by having it run under a load like this?

thanks!

The same thing happens to me while playing Warcraft III Frozen Throne. At first I thought it had to do something with the game itself being originally written for PowerPC's and the update to make it work with Intel CPU's was "off" but now that I read your problem, that's not the case. Does it happen all the time? Usually mine runs 40-50 percent and on odd occasions where it will be at 100% with fans spinning in high 5000 RPM's.

as long as its not overheating it should be fine

thanks for the reply's guys.

im running the mac version on OSX.

can i see a long history using the i-stat tool? i can't figure out how.

since the game runs full screen i can't see the CPU usage all the time. but every time i exit its at 100 percent with the fans near 6000 rpm.
possibly this could be because its saving and using extra CPU power at that time?

thanks for your time with all my dumb questions..i just dont want to hurt my macbook!
