Macbook cracking

I just bought a new macbook not too long ago.. Maybe 4-5 months ago.. I have minor cracking on on the edge just under the track pad..

Now I don't beat my macbook or throw it around and abuse it. I was really surprise when I discovered this..

Now my one question about this is: Is this covered by my one year warranty?

yes it does. i called them today and they are shipping out a box for me to send it in and get it fixed. the apple rep said that they are going to switch keyboard, and all the casing so it would look like its brand new again. i love apple customer service!

Yes that issue would usually even be covered out of warranty due to they issued a notice about a manufacturer defect for that.
