first off check this out..

im thinking of wacking that in where my optical drive sits as i cant remember the last time i had need for a cd of any sort..

would it be possible to load the operating system, programs and essential files on a SSD drive sitting in the Data Doubler..

it does talk of using it exactly like any other form of HD, but im just wondering if the mac would pick it up as its main boot drive. Then replace the main HDD with a 1TB drive to maximise storage capability.

cheers!:apple:

Yes you can boot from it. I have one in my 15in MBP that has a SSD in it and i boot off of the SSD, and use my 320GB HDD as storage.

oh just quick..how did you restore your data..standard copying old hardrive onto SSD before installing and then separating your files once both drives have been installed? or a more complicated self read technique?

also did you have to 'tell' your macbook to boot off the SSD located in the old optical drive?

sorry, im new to this and confused ha
