Got a trusty (at least until yesterday) white MacBook 2.4 C2D. It worked perfectly so far, but since yesterday it doesn't start up anymore.
When I turn it on, all I hear, after the sleep light turns off and it wants to access the hard drive, is a faint click, and it shuts down again.

Is it only the hard drive, or is it something more serious?

Hard to say... Could be anything at this point but you could start with the HD and memory.
