Hi

Whenever I press on the volume key or brightness, I have to hold it down for 3 seconds for it to change, it didn't do that before, I messed it up, can it be fixed?

Please and Thank You.

It's a new MacBook. (aluminum)

But I know I caused it, idk how but I did.

Please help :(

EDIT: Nothing was spilled on it or dropped.

Thanks... I don't know the SMC thing seems to complicated.

This is awful, it's not the computer, I did something to it and now it's like this...

You asked for help. I suggested something for you to do and you say "thats to complicated"!?

Well good luck fixing your problem then

By the way I know removing the battery and restarting the computer is soooo complicated!

I assume you've restarted and you don't seem to have any frozen apps.

The SMC reset isn't hard at all.

MacBook, MacBook Pro
  1. If the computer is on, turn it off.
  2. Disconnect the AC Adapter and remove the computer's battery.
  3. Press and hold the power button for 5 seconds and then release the button.
  4. Reconnect the battery and AC Adapter.
  5. Press the power button to restart the computer

Tried it correctly, did not work.

Delayed Keys are fine I guess.

Did you try re-installing the OS, on top of what you already have installed (instead of wiping it clean)? Its generally, not too tough a thing to do, boot the computer with the Leopard DVD inside, hold the C key when booting, and I think there's the option to install/repair the installation.

Somebody else chime in on this please? :D
