I tried to put ssd in my 13 inch macbook pro mid 2012 , everything went well but mac died with just a green charging line on cable and one green light on battery indicator. Tried pram, Smc every possible option but couldnt start it. Opened back case and checked again there was no visible damages but one of the capacitor near the fan was hot after plugging in charger . If anybody have any idea would love to hear thank you

I once installed an ssd in an old mac mini and it didn't run. It was the OS. I need it to install it with a date before 2015 and then the machine took it. You should do a search about your specific machine, there is always something.

Try unplugging all the connectors and then reconnect them carefully but securely. This could be caused by a dodgy connection.

I have a mid-2012 MacBook Pro - running a SSD and Catalina. I installed the SSD probably five years ago. No problems so far.

I wonder if one of the major MacOS created a problem for migration.

I know that I did a full backup and restore maybe around Mojave.
