I have a MacBook air only two years old. I do back up and sync, but my disk is always saying it’s almost full. I got the app disk utility and it’s not helped much with the disk full issue. I have been buying icloud storage monthly for memory. I notice the options to save don’t go automatically to icloud, so now im placing my files into icloud. What do i need to help with this!

Are you using Time Machine? If so it says it will just write over the oldest data when needed if it’s running out of space. Don’t try and delete anything yourself in TM because the files are linked and you would break the entire chain making the backup void.

I always use 2 backup disks, one for Time Machine and one for Carbon Copy Cloner.

as for the cloud, if you place files in desktop or cloud drive, it is automatic but you have to be on wifi and it does have to sync. It might not be instant but it is automatic 😬

You should have about 15 to 20 percent empty space on your system drive. What's the size of your system drive? Do you know what's using up the space?
I have 128 GB total. At first it was saying on the disk utility, videos. Of which I’ve tried to delete them. The rest are Zip drives. Which that was the reason they are in zip to store them.

I’m sorry I’m not that tech savvy! Lol
Can you tell me basically what i need as well as what this chain is all about? Or send a link for me to read?
thanks
