I purchased M1 MacBook Air in 2021 and suddenly one day display went grey while I left it asleep with the lid open. It started after some time and then went to grey while I was working on it. This time the display never recovered. I tried to reset PRAM, SMC, Ran first aid on disk utility app, only to find out in Apple service centre that display is gone and would require 1/3rd of the price of Mac. I was always careful with the Mac . I never dropped it nor any liquid damage is there and yet display is gone just like that. Is there something that I can do to fix the display without paying 1/3rd of the Mac to get the display to work again like software reset etc ? I would also like to know that if someone has suffered like me. I want to know what really destroyed my Mac display ? how can such an expensive product just stop working out of the blue. I have an ipad that is 8 years old and still works. What about the reliability of such an expensive product. If a 900$ Mac is going to go bad after every two year then we must seriously think about not buying them
