Hello, I have found this problem, and I don't know how to fix it. Sometimes when I open the lid of my MacBook, it will not return from sleep and all I see is a black screen. I usually have to hold the on button until it turns on at this point. Does anyone know what I can do to fix this?

Is this consistent? If it is, trying punching this into the Terminal:

sudo pmset -a lidwake 1

If it's an intermittent thing....then I'm stumped.

Did you upgrade RAM recently? There have been problems in the past with people upgrading RAM and the macbook has problems with waking up from sleep. This deals with a problem with copying the sleep image from the HD back to the RAM. See this forum for possible solutions.

As far as I can tell it's a problem that just comes and goes, it doesn't seem to be consistent at all.
