Hi folks,

again a though one...
My girlfriend's unibody MacBook refuses to pass the cd drive check at startup.
It doesn't do the "BONG" startupsound and even the screen stays black.
I removed the battery and put it back in, no luck.
Her hard drive works perfectly with my MacBook Pro.
Tomorrow I will call applecare. Any advise? :)

Have a nice sunday!

Dave

Resetting the PRAM seems to be a popular fix for wonky start-up issues. Have you tried that. You could try resetting the SMC as well.

If neither work, make an appointment with your local Genius bar?

We tried both, with no luck unfortunately...
The next Apple store is 4 hours away.

Thanks scienide09!
