MacBook Doesn't Read iPhone at All

When I connect my iPhone (non-jailbroken) to my MacBook Pro, it doesn't charge, pull up iTunes - nothing. When I plug it into my brothers PC, everything is fine.

My iPod Touch works fine with my MacBook. Anyone know what the problem could be?
 
If you haven't tried this already, unplug your sync cable and plug it back in with your iPhone attatched. Does the trick for me in this situation.
