I have a mid 2007 MacBook running Snow Leopard (10.6.8) that can connect to networks somewhat successfully but drops then pretty frequently.

Dropping can range from dropping every minute to every half hour and reconnecting can range from a minute to about 10 minutes.

Not sure if it is related, but I also frequently get a "Connection Timeout" when I type in the network name and password when trying to connect to new networks.

I am pretty sure that the issue here is my computer, since I have experienced this issue with multiple networks and I am pretty sure that this issue is software based.

How can I go about diagnosing and resolving this issue?

Please let me know if any additional details would be useful.

Create a new location for your airport.
Go to System Preferences -> Network -->
