Hi all.

I have a Macbook Pro (15-inch, Mid 2012) which I would like to share screen space with my BenQ GL2460HM monitor, however I am stumped as what to buy. I understand there are various ways to achieve this by either using HDMI, DVI or thunderbolt. I have done a bit of research into this but have found out there are direct wires (thunderbolt to DVI) or adapters (thunderbolt adapter to DVI), but again, I am baffled.

Can anyone please help me understand as to which gives the better quality, and what the difference is between a direct wire and an adapter?

Thank you!
