I connected my macbook to 46" 1080P plasma tv, everything was fine at the begining, but after I used it for 20 mins, sometime 10 mins, hdmi signal drops(black screen on TV), when I unplug and plug in again, it works for another 10-20 mins. I am guessing poor quality of the dvi-hdmi adaptor (5 bucks from ebay), are there any other possible causes?

Thanks

Maybe the laptop is going to sleep but I assume you would notice that. DVI-HDMI converters are simple (no electronics) so it's surprising that that would be the problem, but I suppose it's possible.

hmmm...I didn't check power setting yesterday, could be, I will try when I get home.

but probably not, becasue sometime the TV screen keeps turning on/off/on/off couple of times, then totally black out, my feeling is weak signal.

It's possible, but the surprising thing is that it works for a significant amount of time before it stops.
