Took a month to receive a pair of Corsair DDR2 800Mhz.

When I use both 800Mhz RAM, it doesn't boot. When I use one original (667Mhz), both RAM work at 667Mhz and I'm able to use 3GB of RAM.

Is there any way to decrease the RAM speed to 667Mhz so I can use BOTH (4GB total) 800Mhz I bought?

Not that I know of - MacBooks 3,1's and 4,1's like yours need at least one PC5300 ram chip in them to start up - the other ram can be PC5300, PC5400 or PC6400. If you put 2 PC6400 sodimms in it then all it will do is beep at you...

You won't be able to use both - can you not send them back and get proper PC5300 sodimms ?

I'm afraid I'll have to find someone willing to exchange them around here.:(

And what about performance. Is there any performance loss using 1x4GB instead of 2x2GB ?
