I have recently purchased the mini display port to DVI adapter and a Belkin DVI to HDMI cable, to plug into my MacBook & Samsung SyncMaster 2032MW monitor. However when I connect this all up the display resolution is appalling, blurry and doesn’t fit the screen. I have tried all the available resolutions turned mirror-mode on & off and its still shockingly bad! Also tried this on my LG TV and still the same. I have a Dell laptop which I connect via HDMI and the resolution is amazing. I thought the MacBook would output the same?

I don't know by how much (and if it should thus be "appalling"), but because MacBooks force you to use two adapters to convert to HDMI (DisplayPort-DVI and DVI-HDMI), there's going to be at least some signal degradation in the process.

Have you tried using just an external monitor (and therefore one adapter) with the MacBook?
