Hi,

I was re installing the software on my macbook OS10.4 from disc 1.

It never finished the process.

The screen went grey, then the apple logo appeared and that was it.

It never spat out disc 1 and it never asked for disc 2.

When turned on, it chimes and the grey background and apple appear and that is it.

If its left for 5 minutes it shuts down and chimes again, and will continue doing this for hours.

I cant boot from the disc.

I have tried all the reboot key combinations I can find, but alas nothing will work.

Has anyone any ideas, please?

Regards,

iio

Was it the restore disks that came with that machine?

What kind of install did you try? Erase and install? Archive and install?

failed reformat

Hi,

Yes they were the original genuine discs that came with the machine and it was an archive and install.
