hi

my macbook fan speeds up and is very loud when ever I play a clip on youtube or basically use my computer for more than one application. However after closing the video the fan returns to a lower RPM.

could it be that the fan is dirty and needs to be cleaned?

thanks

It could be dirty, but a small fan makes loud noises when it rotates at 6200rpm.

When you watch YouTube or any other video embedded in Flash, your CPU gets hot, as Flash is not really optimized for Mac OS X.

You can either try Click2Flash or the YouTube HTML 5 beta, which give you the option to circumvent Flash.

And please search before you post something that has been posted several times already.
MRoogle is quite a good tool to search these forums.
