macbook fan question

how do you know if the fan on your macbook is messed up?
is it obvious
if you do the hardware check will it show up as something wrong with the fan

n also when the fan kicks on and it gets loud and everything...if you move the notebook can that possibly break the fan...or you can move the notebook while the fan is on

yes. it will be a "not ordinary noise".

it will be loud, it will be unsettling, it will be obvious.

the hardware checks wont show anything is wrong until the fan is not working at all.

i had this happen to me.

fan made noise, brought to applestore, ran diagnostic, passed..sent me home.
1 week later, fan got louder, finally completely broke i.e. not spinning at all, brought BACK to applestore, he ran diagnostic again, FAILED this time, replaced 2 fans, free, within 5 work days.
