Hello all,

Obviously, I'm new to the forums, but thank you in advance for your help and patience.

So, I dropped my MacBook from a fairly low height the other day. Now when it boots up, the Flashing Folder-? Icon pops up. bummer.

I've read around and tried everything I can find to try. I've read over posts such as: [http://guides.macrumors.com/Mac_doesn't_boot]. Nothing works.

My only problem is that I can't get it to boot the DVD startup disk at all. Everything I try ends with the disk being kicked out of the drive, or spinning for a while and then doing nothing.

Any thoughts?

might have broke your optical drive as well.
Sounds like the drive is corrupt in a state of corruption.
I just fixed a system like this aswell.

Best bet is to try and get to another mac and boot your mac into Target Disk Mode then connect it to the other mac, and repair the disk and repair permissions and see if you can boot from it after that.
If you can boot, boot into safe mode and repair the permissions and verify the disk again....then ASAP get a new drive.
