I tried updating to 10.6.3 the other day, but it was stuck for over 2 hours so I stupidly turned the laptop off. When i tried to start it again i got the blinking folder with a question mark. So I'm guessing the start up file got corrupted or is missing, so i tried to use disk utility, and after i repair it says that the HD appears to be working fine. Then I rebooted and i get the same question mark folder, and I'm stuck in that loop.

Does anyone have any ideas, all my files are in-tact, but i don't feel like moving 400GB back and forth, and re-installing etc.

One more thing, if I copy all my firefox files, and move them to another laptop, will it remember all my passwords? Or is it stored somewhere else?

Re-install Snow Leopard, this will install the system files only (wont touch your documents/emails etc).
