Macbook for Premiere and Aftereffects?

I'm a student so dropping $2000 on a Macbook Pro is out of the question for me, but what if I got a 2.1 ghz white Macbook and upgraded the RAM to 4gb and HDD to an 80 gig 7200 rpm? I don't need premiere to run incredibly fast, but it should be smooth and workable.
