So my friend is 800 miles away from me and has started to develop a problem with the macbook I gave her ... she says if she picks it up while it's running, it freezes and/or reboots. Pretty new problem. It's under AppleCare, so that's great, but there is no Apple Store in Santa Barbara, so she has to send it in. I need to figure out a great way to back up her stuff before she does that.

However, I thought I'd ask here -- anyone seen this problem? First thing I thought of was the motion sensor in the disk, but not sure why that would cause a freeze of the actual computer -- very odd.

Off Topic: I live in Santa Barbara and there's no Apple store. There's a store called MacMechanic where they replace your apple stuff.
