OK.
So I was trying to play the sims 3 on my 'ol faithful mac (late 2007-2008 macbook), which I have done successfully before (albeit it was slow), but now whenever I insert the disc, the whole freakin computer freezes. I have to reboot it, and the only way to eject the disc is to do that whole, "hold down the trackpad button" thing. What is wrong with my compy? Is it the disc drive? the ram? I have no clue, so please help me out! :)

what are your macbook spec's?

i would first try to make sure that nothing else is running when you are going to run the game, use activity monitor and make sure you only have barebones running. then try to start the game, if it still persists then it might be time to upgrade the RAM to help out, if not then maybe its time to do a clean wipe of that HD and start fresh

The specs:
Its a macbook3,1 with intel core 2 duo
Processor: 2.2GHz
Number Of Processors: 1
Total Number Of Cores: 2
L2 Cache: 4 MB
Memory: 1 GB
Bus Speed: 800 MHz
Boot ROM Version: MB31.008E.B02
SMC Version (system): 1.24f3

Is that any help?
