I'm about to purchase a new macbook with the following specs:

C2D 2.4 Ghz
X3100
2 GB of Ram

How will it play CSS and COD4 (fps?), and which program should I use, crossover or bootcamp?

Boot Camp. Virtualization is worthless for games.

good luck with that buddy. I don't think either of those games are going to work with that set up. not without a dedicated graphics card.

You're looking at 25 FPS staring at a wall on CSS; I don't play COD4.

Well Crossover isn't free and BootCamp is, so I'd say see if it works before you buy Crossover; if you feel spiffy you could always just compile wine from source and never pay for Crossover.
