Hi all,

I have an M1 MacBook Pro and am having trouble syncing the Photos to iCloud. On my previous MacBook (2013) this was never a problem.

It often seems to get "stuck" on "Last Synced... X time ago" and doesn't recover. It just sits there refusing to sync for days or weeks until I get fed up and repair the library. I live in a rural part of the world and have many photos, so that takes about a week to perform itself.

This really is very problematic for me - I've tried the standard restarting/logging out of iCloud and back in. Has anyone else had similar problems, or does anyone have any bright ideas?

No, it’s 100% not that - other macs and iPads in the house have no trouble, and neither did my old Mac. It’s not even as if it hangs while uploading either - it just never seems to try to begin uploading in the first place!

I have the same problem. It's been like that for over 2 years.
My internet connect is ethernet to modem with fast fibre to ISP. The connection works very well for everything else.
It's happened on 2017 27" iMac and Mac Studio M1, each through all the macOS updates in the 2 years.
File types include .HEIC, .JPG, & .MOV
File dates 12/79 thru 5/20
