Why does my macbook go to sleep when in clamshell mode if i unplug the power cord?? Why doesn't it run off the battery if I unplug the power cord, but it will when NOT in clamshell mode???:confused::confused:

Wirelessly posted (iPhone: Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU like Mac OS X; en) AppleWebKit/420.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.0 Mobile/4A93 Safari/419.3)

it's just the way it's designed to operate. Guess you'd need to ask Apple why they've done it like that

it should sleep in clamshell mode with or without a power cord plugged in

the only thing that stops it sleeping in clamshell is if you have an external mouse, keyboard and monitor plugged in
