My sisters 2010 (old I know) macbook got water spilled onto it. She immediately powered it off, turned it upside down, let it dry out for 3 days. It will not power up, it has been six days now.

She is desperate to save her photos.

1. Any tricks to get this thing back on so we can salvage her photos?

2. Can the drive be removed and then booted up somehow?

Thank you for any help.

I would remove the drive and put it in an external enclosure and transfer the data from it to a new computer, if that is possible. sounds like she really fried it, but hopefully the drive is still functional and will allow you to get the pictures off. Remind her to get an external drive for backup next time, too. That would have saved her a lot of trouble. iCloud and Google Photos are also your friend in times like this.
