This is probably a very stupid question... one that I wouldn't ask if it were my own machine, but I'm about to do a RAM upgrade in my friends Late 2008 Unibody Macbook (5,1), and I would just like to know where the best place on the machine is to clip my anti static wrist strap. I'm not totally sure how to properly ground myself with this piece of hardware.

Thanks. :)

you need to so clip it to a table or desk, it needs to be you not the machine that is earthed. Best to have an anti static mat too. As long as you hold the dims by the edges you shouldn't run into any issues.

Thanks man. I've never run into any problems with my own machine-- I've just never used a strap before, but with my friends' I'd like to be extra careful. ;)

Thanks for your help. I ended up clipping it to the metal part of a nearby sliding glass door. Upgrade went beautifully... however I did have to re-set the sticks once.
