Hello, I am a new user to mac I got a macbook last May and this February my hard drive crashed, the guys at my local store were able to find the files and move them to an external hard drive that I provided them with. Then they replaced my hard drive on my mac and restored it to original state. I have a Mac OS X version 10.5.8 . My external hard drive is an iomega. My problem is now that I finally connected my eh to my mac (2 days ago) I am unable to see any of my photos in iphoto and when I checked the package contents there are different types of documents nothing that looks like a photo. I already have my mac up and running with my iphoto library and have added new pictures since the new hard drive was installed. So is there a special mac way to move or open these files to magically find all of my wonderful photos, or does this mean my photos were lost in the crash. I did try to move the picture folder to my mac from the eh but the only thing that moved were some photos my husband had save to the finder picture folder directly. First time I tried to move them it said it did not recognize my iphoto package, then another time it said I already had a folder named iphoto library , did I want to replace it with this one, and I did not since I do have new photos there that are not saved anywhere else so I just stopped it.
Like I said I am new to mac, And I have read forum after forum and just do not know enough about macs to attempt anything further without a suggestion to my exact problem, and just couldn't find anything just like it anywhere, any help would be greatly appreciated, I can't stand the thought of loosing my photos.
