I would like to upgrade my hardrive on my macbook some options include

Western Digital - Scorpio 320GB 7200rpm

or the

SEAGATE MOMENTUS 500gb 7200rmp

The problem is I cant find the second one in stock anywhere and I can buy the first one at a local retailer...anyone with the 7200 notice a difference is it worth the upgrade from stock? Im thinking this coupled with the ram upgrade will be worth it. One last question when I do install the new hardrive can I just pop in the osx dvd that came with the computer to format the new drive there is nothing I need to transfer form the old drive.

Anyone know if the Scorpio 500gb 7200rpm is coming out soon?

Both are good drives. I have a Seagate in mine as its pretty flawless.

Yeah, once you've swapped the drives, just put your leopard disc in. You will need to reformat the HDD first though but you can do that through the disc utility when you are installing OS X

As a side note, what Macbook is it?

I have a feeling that if its the new ones, it will be the same as the Plastic models in that you will need a Torx T6 screwdriver to undo the drive from its caddy.
