Macbook has nothing inside startup disk window! (Macintosh HD & Recovery HD Missing)

My macbook is screwed up. I don't know what I am doing and need to ask for help before it gets any worse! I followed instructions from some website-(not apple which was dumb) tried deleting previous disk and re-install Mac-OS X. Now I have absolutly nothing in the "start up disk" window when I open it under disk utility. Inside disk utility: there is no Macintosh HD or Recovery HD all I have is something that says Disk1 with a partition of MAC OS X Base System. And Toshiba something with partition of disk02. I verified disk on all no errors. Says that every thing seems ok in the log.
HELP PLEASE!

Have you tried starting up from Recovery (Command (⌘)-R)?
