I upgraded the RAM on my 2.0 Alum a while back and am now looking to upgrade the hard-drive (probably to 500GB).

The product specs for my machine list the HDD type as 5400-rpm Serial ATA - so will any drive that matches those specs work? Any advice on drives to avoid?

Also - what is the easiest way to accomplish installing the new drive while keeping my OS and files in tact?

Thanks.

Any 2.5" SATA drive will work, it can be 5400rpm or 7200rpm

Make a backup with Time Machine to external HD and then use Migration Assistant to transfer your files back to the new HD
