Hello everyone,

I recently ordered the black macbook, 2.4ghz, 2gb ram, 250gb hard drive to use for university. Now, after buying it I have heard alot about its heat issues, and how it can be VERY warm. Should I be concerned about using it for long amounts of time? Is it bad for the laptop components to be hot?

Also, I will be using the macbook off my lap quite a bit, in bed, watching TV, etc, is the heat bearable?

Cheers,

Eric D.

You can download smcFanControl and use it to increase your CPU fan speed to help cool it (I run my Macbook at 2600RPM vs. stock 1800RPM) if you want. Make sure that you don't set the laptop on clothes/sheets/pillows, etc. Keep it on a hard surface when you're using it and you'll be fine. :)
