hey everyone, i have the old blackbook penryn model, and in the past few months or so, whenever i open or close the screen from the sides it emits a loud squeaking sound, im just wondering should i go to the apple store to fix this, or is there a way to do it myself.

iFixit.com has instructions on how to fix/tighten hinges on the Macbook. The Apple store might fix it for free.

BTW you shouldn't close your Macbook from the sides.

my old blackbook had the same problem. apple store had to send it to depot to get it fixed, taking roughly a week. wasn't worth it.
