I just got a 2016 Space Grey MacBook and I noticed that the hinge isn't as tight as the the one on my 15-inch Pro. I looked at the one on the display model at the Apple Store and it was also loose. I went to another store and the gold model seems to have a tighter hinge. Is this an issue or am I just being pedantic?

the 15" MBP is normal to have a tight hinge since the display is bigger and heavier

You can get Apple to tighten it but check if it's right first.

Place your macbook on a flat surface. Now use one finger on the cut out to lift the screen. It should offer enough resistance that it feels like it's going to lift the base but opens with a soft pop if that makes sense.

If it's to tight it'll pick the base up. To loose and it'll flop open.
