for some reason, when ever i try to invite some1 to a videochat, it says error, the person didnt respond or somethin, but i can do regular text chat, i know the person responded and accepted it. whats wrong?? thanx

mistake and editing*

i just got my macbook and i tried vid chatting and it wont work saying theres and error and my freind didnt responded when he actually has so i dont know wat to do..do i need to download something

so do i have to download something to vid chat on a macbook?

Umm no. Does the error come both ways? In other words, does the error happen when you instigate the video chat and when your friend tries to instigate it?

For me when I video chat with my girlfriend (she has vista) the only way it works is when I instigate the chat. It only gives us errors if she starts it.

no it says error when somebody asks me or when i ask somebody but it says send the problem to apple so i did that but i was wondering if i had to download something because i just got it like 3 days

Either you or the person you're trying to video chat with is behind a firewall and you need to forward your ports - common problem with a simple solution.

any instant messaging account you have just sign in. Aim,yahoo, msn all those shi$! Work.

You're an idiot.

Only AIM, Mobile ME (via AIM) and Jabber works with iChat.

Video chatting, especially with a Windows user can be tricky. Usually I just keep trying or tell them to turn off their firewall. Sometimes they have crappy internet so you'll want to set a bandwidth limit.
